The First SBS 18 Challenge

Their first challenge over at SBS 18 is to make a card for your Mum to tell her how much you love her and to send it to her so she recieves it by the 27th May (the anniversary of my mother's death). If you are not able to do so, please make and send a card to your nearest most loved other female relation, failing that your best friend, if that does not work the dog or cat! They must be female though!
Full instructions at SBS 18.

I took an aperture card and glued a little vial onto the inside added a few peel-offs and loving verse on the back then headed to the florist for a beautiful orchid as that's mum's favourite flower. She'll get it to day when I visit.

Newbie........

This is a card made by Natz (Samantha's pal) who was visiting the other evening. She had mentioned to Sam she'd like to try card making so I let her loose in my studio and this is the card she created for her gardening lover brother's birthday.
This is the first time Natz has made a card, she stamped and embossed the greeting and bear then coloured it, she chose the coloured card and papers and wanted an embly for the left corner, I showed her the real flowers and this was her choice and voila a fabby card! I just wish both girls lived close or came to visit me not their boyfriends!

At Last......

This is the award I was presented with by the lovely Marlou on 2/4/2008. Due to many things I have only just picked it up. I am sorry Marlou and hope you can forgive me.xx

This award originates from the Spanish blog Arte Y Pico and there are 5 rules attached, they are:

1) You have to pick 5 blogs that you consider deserve this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also contributes to the blogging community, no matter what language.

2) Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone.

3) Each award winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her or him the award itself.

4) Award-winner and the one who has given the prize have to show the link "Arte Y Pico" blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award.

5) To show these rules.

The 5 people I award this (rather late)to are:

Dawn - aka. Glitterpuss
Enfy

Daring Cardmakers Challenge

Here is my take on Daring Cardmakers Friday's challenge.

It’s all in the Game

Tiddlywinks, playing cards, dominos, jig saw pieces…….the list goes on and I’m sure that most of us have a drawer somewhere that has the odd one or two of these lying around in.
Well now’s your chance to use them because I dare you to make a card using some of those pieces.
Oh and no, you don’t need to throw a double six to start playing.

Scrummy Stash Cafe Cover Girl Challenge

Here's my take on SSC's challenge, I used the Mika album cover.
SSC said, "I set this challenge for the girls a month or so ago, to use Mika's album cover as inspiration for a project and I notice Anita Mundt had exactly the same idea in Scrapbook Inspirations this month, so I've opened this challenge up a bit for you! I'd like you to use an album/cd cover as the inspiration for your project, you're welcome to use Mika's album cover if you fancy a bit of a challenge".

Wheels At Last.......

Here is a card I made for my son as he bought his first car on Thursday past.

My New Crafting Buddy

My son’s girlfriend Samantha comes into my craft ‘studio’ for a chat when she is visiting Jason and has always showed interest in my ‘stash’ that’s sitting around, eg. Oh this is nice what's it for, what do you do with this? - and making her fingerprints with my ink pads. Today she mentioned she’d like to try making a card sometime, I said now is as good a time as any! This is the card she created for my husband’s birthday next month. The stamped image she got right the first time she put on the embossing powder and heated it then using water colour pencils, water and brush coloured it in. I handed her various different bits of foiled card and when she made her choice I explained about matting & layering. I think it is fabulous for a ‘Newbie’ to cardmaking. So I have found a new crafting buddy, I hope she gets the 'bug' so we can spend lots of time crafting together while my son watches football.

CAARDVARKS

Caardvark say... Are you ready for a MICRO CHALLENGE? It's been a while... As many of you know, our Micros are fast & furious ONE DAY challenges. You have until midnight tomorrow night (March 2nd) to link your card for this challenge. Oh, I guess it would be helpful to let you know *what* the challenge is all about! JUST SAY NO TO PATTERNED PAPER! Feel free to make your own patterned paper, but we don't wanna see any pp on your card. Resist the urge and go cardstock only. :)

This the one I made.. I trippled embossed in clear onto beige card then stamped in black .. this created the background for the main images. I used same stamp with gold ink on the card itself.
